In the hands of someone that knows how to use it a shotgun is capable of just about anything you could ever need from a gun. Hunt anything from quail to bear. Protect yourself from bad guys. Breach doors. Disable a vehicle. Kill zombies. Whatever. Even the Vice President of the United States recommends the shotgun although I wouldn’t try using it the way he suggested.

Yea rifles and handguns have their place in the safe too but Senator Feinstein and her friends don’t seem too interested yet in banning the shotgun. Since everything else is becoming hard to find or prohibitively overpriced maybe it is time to spend some time on the basics.
