This years El Nino has exposed the remains of the SS Monte Carlo which drifted onto the beach in 1937. It has been there ever since. I have been vacationing in Coronado since the 80’s and I have only seen small parts of this 300 foot converted cargo ship. Frankly I am surprised that they don’t remove it but most of the time it is completely covered by the sand and is not a hazard. This year, however, is unique and this picture proves it.
