Northwest Territories Dall Sheep And Moose Hunt

HCOD reader Lee Britt hunting in the Northwest Territories.  This is hardcore outdoor and nobody represents what we love to do and how we love to do it better than Lee.  If your first due area, area of operations, district or playground looks like this, you have come to the right site and are among friends.

Big country!  Awe inspiring.  Defies explanation.

Better bring your A game.  Side hilling in the shale.  Humping big loads in extreme terrain over long distances.  No ATVs, roads, motorhomes, treestands, food plots, or trail cameras here boys so things can get pretty western.    Transportation is by human powered bipedal locomotion so your gear had better be purpose built and up to the task.

Adventures like this require top notch gear, skill and grit.  Great outdoorsmen are prepared for just about anything including a little snow.  Adversity makes the story better.

Strong work.  Note the Kuiu Chugach Jacket, Savage Weather Warrior rifle in Lazzeroni 7.82 Patriot with a Kahles 3-9x42 scope, and Mammut Soft Shell Pants.

Damn, that's a big animal.  Very impressive.

The really hard work begins after the trigger is pulled.  That's a Kifaru KU3700 Pack and Kuiu Attack Pants
.

Regular readers know that this site is not how I make my living, it is what I do for fun and how I continue to serve my community.  It is a labor of love though that takes a fair amount of time and energy that pays off many times over when I get to sit and visit with readers like Dr. Lee Britt.  Lee is the quintessential Hardcore Outdoor reader.  Soft spoken, easy going, smart, and successful in his chosen field but hardcore about what he likes to do outside and how he likes to do it.  What a trip.  He got to spend time in a truly spectacular place, hunt amazing animals, and put some great gear to the test in extreme conditions.  I couldn't be happier for him.  Congratulations Doc and well done.

Lees gear list reads like a who's who of great gear including Lowa, Kenetrek, Kifaru, Kuiu, Sitka Gear, Outdoorsmans, Leica, Swarovski, Rab, Slik, Icebreaker,  Under Armour, Darn Tough, Dalgren, Mammut, Patagonia, Savage, Kahles and Wilderness Athlete.  Those are names you have seen before on these pages and they are all worthy of your consideration.

I have invited Lee to write a story and tell us more about this trip.  I look forward to sharing it with you.

Thanks.
