GREAT GEAR RECOMMENDATION - Field Operations Guide - Edition 4

New and expanded. Tom Pendleys Technical Rescue Field Operations Guide Edition 4 is a valuable tool for anyone in the search and rescue business. Sized to fit in your BDU or bunker pockets there is no reason you shouldn't have it with you on every call for reference.
I would be trumpeting the newest version of the Technical Rescue Field Operations Guide or FOG even if it weren't written by a good friend of mine because it is an outstanding tool for Rescue Techs in all genres. Chief Tom Pendley is what the corporate community calls a luminary or subject matter expert and I can tell you from first hand, personal experience that his knowledge is based on the ideal combination of real world practical application and state of the art industry training. Granted, I may be a little biased but from my qualified, professional perspective the FOG is the product of a 22 year career of not just teaching but doing and is the best of its kind on the market today. Period. Bar none. No question. End of discussion.
I continue to be impressed with Toms commitment to the continuous refinement and improvement of his work. This fourth edition is not just a reprint with a new cover. It is thoroughly updated, contains even better more detailed graphics and adds more than forty pages of new and expanded information. Edition Four is his best FOG yet and I encourage you to get at least two copies. One for the rig and one for the station "library".
Innovative. For those that want more information or further, more demonstrative explanation, Chief Pendley is building online multi-media tutorials to go with the procedures illustrated in the FOG. They will be ready Fall of 2011 and can be accessed at www.DesertRescue.com
Now you know that price is not normally a consideration in our evaluations here at Hardcore Outdoor but we like a good deal as much as the next guy. Even I am smart enough to recognize that a top notch Field Operations Guide and online training from one of the best SAR Techs in the business is a smoking deal at $24 bucks. Get it? Smoking? He is a fireman. Smoke fire firefighter. Get it? Oh man, I crack me up.
Thanks.
