The New Swarovski EL50 - 10x50 and 12x50 Binoculars with Swarovision Technology and HD Lenses

Drum roll please...Ta Da! Here they are boys and girls. The new Swarovski EL50 Binoculars now available in 10 and 12 power with their best in class Swarovision technology.
I have been sitting on this info for a while but since Swarovski put it out on their website yesterday I figure I am not betraying any confidences by posting it here and now.
Swarovski is now offering their excellent EL binoculars in 10 and 12 power with bigger objectives lens so all you 50mm fans can start celebrating. What's more is that they will also have the best and brightest Swarovision technology that I tested and wrote about here in December of 2009. Here is what Swarovski published yesterday on their site;
"Cranston, Rhode Island - SWAROVSKI OPTIK announces the new EL 50mm binoculars with SWAROVISION technology specially developed for greater viewing comfort, especially for eyeglass wearers. Using a field, which helps to create a true image, it is possible to produce diamond-bright image resolution right up to the very edge of the field of view ensuring the finest detail without any edge distortion.
In the 50mm category, these very compact binoculars contain HD lenses to minimize color fringing (chromatic aberration) and guarantee razor-sharp images with the highest possible resolution. The EL 50mm SWAROVISON provides viewing comfort through the entire wide-angle field of view with amazing edge to edge sharpness. The sturdy, removable twist-in eyecups have been designed with four intermediate stage settings making it easier to adapt the individual distance between the ocular lens and eye. The new focusing wheel made from hard and soft components is non-slip, sturdy, easily and accurately operated. It is possible to change the setting from the close to infinity very quickly with only two complete turns. This unrivalled close is particularly beneficial for the macro observation world.
SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA CEO, Albert Wannenmacher, said of the market launch, "These new 50mm EL Swarovisions are amazing as far as their performance, but moreover the compact size within the 50 mm category sets a new standard for larger binoculars.”
The time-tested and elegant EL design with wrap-around grip has also been optimized. Thanks to their rubber armouring, the binoculars are easy to handle even when cold and the ergonomic thumb rests ensure a perfectly balanced observation. The practical accessories are yet another plus in terms of functionality. All new EL 50’s are supplied with a water-repellent bag, an easily adjustable Lift carrying strap, protective caps for eyepieces and objectives, plus the Snap Shot adapter, the latter is used to quickly connect a digital compact camera to the binocular for remarkable photographs taken at long distance.
The problem is that 56mm objectives in the EL design are just too big for the current hinge configuration. My bet is that we will get Swarovision lenses in the 15x56s long before we get an EL with 56mm barrels. There is just too much re-engineering that would have to occur. Sorry but how about we just be happy with these new products. They are great and the the more of them we buy, the more pull we as a market segment will have with the guys that makes these decisions.
Thanks.
