New Mexico Antelope Hunt

2008 New Mexico Land Owners Antelope Tag.  AKA The Cannonball Run.  Long drive and short time to get there...and back.  Good hunt.  Funny story, at least now it is.  Taken with my Remmington 700 ADL.

I posted a little story about my brothers New Mexico goat hunt a few weeks ago and then got a couple of messages asking where the pics were from my own hunt.  I thought I had posted about it but I guess I never got a round to it so here it is.

Cody Goff (my brothers best friend since first grade) and I ran out for the three day hunt while my brother Cody was home on new baby watch.  We both filled our tags and survived the worst rain and hail storm I have ever witnessed.  It was so bad we literally could not see the pavement outside of the truck so we just coasted to a stop and sat there on the interstate.  When the storm lifted, just as quickly as it hit us, there was an 18 wheeler that was also stopped in the lane adjacent to us.  He was 5 feet away and we had no idea he was there.

Anyway, if you ever get the chance, head to New Mexico for an Antelope.  the people are nice, the chilies are hot and the goat are plentiful.  Be safe, use your head and good hunting!
