UNDER CONSIDERATION - Lowa Uplander GTX

The Lowa Uplander GTX.  Lightweight, nimble, quiet, supportive and as with everything I have seen from Lowa, well made.  Sounds like a solid bow hunting boot to me.

Lowa  has a long history of putting out top notch boots for the discerning outdoorsman but I gotta tell you that they have kicked it up a couple steps the last couple years.  Take a look at their current line and you will see not just a couple great boots but one impressive model after another.

Since I test many of their boots I can tell you that, at least in Lowas case, beauty is not just skin deep.  The design is functional and modern without being trendy or frivolous.  There is no fluff in the Lowa boot line.  They are made very well and best of all they perform as advertised in the field.  If I had an award for the best all-around line of outdoor boots for 2010 it would go to Lowa, hands down.

The Uplander GTX is just one example.  Lightweight and very flexible with an 8 inch upper that provides ample ankle support and padding.  It shares the same super quiet Vibram Vialta outsole found on the Renegade GTXs.  The Uplander GTX is not built for big heavy loads like the Ranger, Tibet or Hunter Extreme, it is made for speed, stealth and finesse.  However, it is insulated with Primaloft so sitting still in a tree stand/ground blind or making an agonizingly slow stalk is a little more tolerable in cold weather.

We'll see how they do in the evaluation process but I already know that it won't be too long before I am back with a full GREAT GEAR RECOMMENDATION of the Lowa Uplander GTX.

Thanks.
