Support Search And Rescue - Volunteer SAR Teams Need Your Help

It is the time of year when outdoor enthusiasts get out there and do their thing.  What ever you like to do please remember that when something bad happens in the backcountry, a very special group of people will risk their lives to help you.

Did you know that 95% of all SAR work in this country is done by volunteers?  It is true.  These dedicated people spend hundreds of thousands of hours in training and mission time every year for no pay.  Even more astounding to me is that most of their equipment and operational expenses are paid for by private donations.

If you love the outdoors, be prepared and make good decisions so that you don't have to meet these folks in mission mode.  Just to make sure you have your bases covered, send them some money so that they have the very best equipment and training to help you or someone you care about in a wilderness emergency.

The
Mountain Rescue Association and the National Association for Search And Rescue are a couple of long established national organizations to consider or do a little research to find your local Team.  These are good people doing good work.  They need your support.
