Not Essential Equipment But Very Cool - The Apple iPod Nano

The night before the opening day of my Dads deer hunt, I was lying in my Wiggy’s bag staring up at the moon and stars.  I was cold camping so there was no fire to tend.  All my gear was squared away for the next morning.  I had already made, eaten, and cleaned up my concoction.  I had completed all of my sat phone calls and since I was alone there was nobody to talk to.  I had even seen a man about a horse, twice, but it was only 2015 and I was bored and still wide awake.

So, I whipped the newest iPod from Apple, the Nano.  I know, this is not the sort of thing you would expect from a hardcore outdoorsman but I gotta tell you this thing is absolutely the coolest thing going when you have some time to kill and nothing else to do.  Now, I have been using an iPod Shuffle for working out and trail runs since it hit the market and I am a big fan.  It is the size of a quarter and so light that you don’t even know you are wearing it.  It clips anywhere, runs forever on a charge and puts out great music.  The new Nano is a little bigger but even cooler because you can store and play TV shows and Movies and it is not as big and cumbersome as the full size iPod Classic.  So, two episodes of CSI later, I was ready to go to sleep.

If you don’t have one, check out the line of iPods.  Audio books, music, TV shows and movies of your choosing are all available in an ingeniously small package that can go with you everywhere.

Thanks.
